CMC Receives ISO:13485 Certification
SAXONBURG, PA. (August 26, 2010)-CMC, a contract manufacturer of products and components for the medical device, transportation, scientific instrumentation, energy, health & safety and aerospace markets has achieved ISO 13485:2003 certification. This certification specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to provide medical devices and related services that consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory requirements applicable to medical devices and related services.

CYGNUS MANUFACTURING COMPANY NAMES KIM McKEAN MANAGER OF HUMAN RESOURCES
SAXONBURG, PA – February 16, 2009 --- Cygnus Manufacturing Company (CMC) has hired Kimberly McKean as manager of human resources. Prior to joining CMC, Ms. McKean served in a similar capacity at II-VI Incorporated for five years. In her new position, she will be involved heavily with the development and implementation of recruitment, orientation, employee relations, and education and training programs.
CYGNUS MANUFACTURING CO. PURCHASES TRUMPF 2020 PUNCH PRESS
SAXONBURG, PA – February 16, 2009--- Cygnus Manufacturing Company (CMC) has added a new Trumpf 2020 Punch Press to its fabrication capabilities for clients in the medical device, scientific instrumentation, health & safety, transportation, energy, industrial and aerospace sectors. The Trumpf Press has 20-ton capacity and a maximum sheet thickness of ¼ inch, as well as a maximum punching rate of 420 strokes per minute.
CYGNUS MFG. CO. SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH HANSON TECHNOLOGIES TO BUILD OmniFresh 1000™ FOOD CONTAMINANT SCREENING SYSTEM
Saxonburg, PA, August 12, 2008 – Cygnus Manufacturing Company, a contract manufacturer of products and components used in health & safety, medical, scientific, transportation, aerospace and energy applications, has partnered with Hanson Technologies (Carlisle, PA), a food safety technology company, to fabricate the automated OmniFresh 1000™ System. OmniFresh 1000™ screens large-volume fresh produce lots in near-real time for contamination by E. coli, salmonella and other bacteria. It provides test results in two hours or less, compared to 12-36 hours for conventional lab testing methods that sample only a tiny percentage of produce lots. The OmniFresh 1000™ System represents a significant improvement in pathogen screening, identifying 99%+ of typically contaminated produce lots vs. 5.8% using conventional testing methods. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, more than 5,000 people in the United States die each year from diseases caused by eating contaminated food. The economic cost of those incidents is more than $10 billion annually.
